Marcel Goc Autographs
Marcel Goc is a former German professional ice hockey player who was born on August 24, 1983 in Calw, West Germany. He had a solid junior career in Germany before embarking on his North American adventure, where he played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for three seasons. Goc was selected 20th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with San Jose in the 2003–04 season, and quickly became a reliable forward, enjoying stints with eight different teams in his career.
Goc's NHL career spanned eleven years, and he played for several quality NHL teams, including the Nashville Predators, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Florida Panthers. Goc's defensive abilities and his ice awareness were the hallmarks of his game, and he was a valuable asset to every team he played for. Over his career, he scored 86 goals and 149 assists for 235 points while accumulating only 144 penalty minutes, testament to his discipline and maturity. His best NHL season was in 2008-2009 while playing for Nashville, where he scored 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points in 77 games.
After playing in the NHL for 11 years, Goc retired from professional ice hockey after the 2017–18 season. A dedicated team player and an excellent penalty killer, who could play in any situation, he is a beloved player who will be missed by his teams, fans and the NHL fraternity.
