Marian Hossa, born on January 12th, 1979, is a Slovakian former ice hockey right winger. Hossa started his hockey career playing for Dukla Trenčín in the Slovak Extraliga. He played two seasons for the team before being drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. From there, he played for the Ottawa Senators, Atlanta Thrashers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and the Chicago Blackhawks.
Over his 19-year career, Hossa was a five-time All-Star, three-time Stanley Cup champion, and was nominated for the Frank J. Selke Trophy twice. He was known for his strong two-way game and his speed on the ice. Throughout his career, Hossa was a consistent scorer and played a crucial role in the success of the teams he played for.
Despite facing health issues, specifically a skin condition that led to his retirement, Hossa had an illustrious career and was one of the best players of his generation. Marian Hossa was a prolific hockey player who will continue to be remembered as a legend in the sport for years to come.
