Markus Naslund was born on July 30th, 1973, in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden. At the age of 16, he moved to Canada to pursue his hockey career, eventually getting drafted 16th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. Naslund played his first NHL game in 1993, but it wasn't until he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in 1996 that he really started to make a name for himself. More about Markus Naslund
