Martin Erat Autographs
Martin Erat is a former Czech professional hockey player who amassed an impressive career in various leagues, including the National Hockey League (NHL) and Czech Extraliga. Born on August 29, 1981, in Trebic, Czech Republic, Erat began his hockey career at a tender age, playing for various youth teams until he joined his hometown team HC Kometa Brno.
Erat later moved to the Czech Republic's Extraliga, playing for HC Zlin, where he led the team in scoring in his second season (2000-2001). He was later selected in the seventh round, the 191st overall, by Nashville Predators in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He spent 11 seasons with the Predators, between 2001 and 2013, where he became the team's all-time leader in assists and games played. He was also the team's alternate captain from 2006 to 2013.
Despite being undersized, Martin Erat developed into a top-flight forward in the NHL, with his best seasons coming between 2006-07 and 2011-12. In those six campaigns, he averaged over 50 points per season and played in the NHL All-Star Game during the 2010-11 season. He was known for his versatility, as he could play both wings and center positions, his strong two-way play, and his ability to make plays in the offensive zone. Erat later played for the Washington Capitals for a season and a half and finished his NHL career after the 2015-16 season with the Arizona Coyotes. Overall, Erat scored 176 goals and 545 points in 881 games played in the NHL.
