Martin Lapointe Autographs
Martin Lapointe is a former NHL right winger and a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee. Born on September 12, 1973, in Ville St. Pierre, Quebec, Martin played at the forward position throughout his career. Lapointe was selected tenth overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in the 1991-92 season and played for the Red Wings until 1999, winning two Stanley Cups in 1997 and 1998.
After the 1998-99 season, Martin Lapointe signed with the Boston Bruins, where he played for five seasons. In 2001, he helped lead the Bruins to the Eastern Conference finals. Later, he played for the Chicago Blackhawks from 2005 to 2008, before finishing his career with the Ottawa Senators in 2008-09. Martin Lapointe recorded 406 points in 991 NHL regular-season games, including 13 seasons with at least 10 goals. He added 26 goals and 35 assists in 109 playoff games. Martin was known for his outstanding physical play, penalty killing expertise, and leadership skills.
Martin Lapointe's hockey career also extended to the international level. He represented Canada in numerous international tournaments, including the 1991 World Junior Championships, where he won a gold medal. He also played for Team Canada in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, winning another championship medal. After his professional career ended, Lapointe joined the Montreal Canadiens as a scout before being promoted to Director of Player Development in the 2012 season. He continues to serve the Canadiens as a director of Player Personnel.
