Matt Cullen Autographs
Matt Cullen is a retired professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 21 seasons. Born on November 2, 1976, in Virginia, Minnesota, Cullen grew up in a hockey family and started playing ice hockey from an early age. He spent one season with Moorhead High School before moving on to the Fargo-Moorhead Ice Sharks, where he played for two seasons before joining the St. Cloud State Huskies Men's Hockey team for three years.
In 1996, Cullen was drafted by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the second round of the NHL Entry Draft. He would go on to play for 8 different teams during his NHL career, including the Anaheim Ducks, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes (where he won the Stanley Cup in 2006), New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, and Pittsburgh Penguins (where he won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017). He retired in 2019 after playing a total of 1,566 games in the NHL, scoring 266 goals and 465 assists for a total of 731 points.
Cullen's career was marked by his versatility and leadership skills. He could play center or wing and was known for his intelligent and disciplined play. He was also a reliable penalty killer, winning the Masterton Trophy in 2018 for his dedication to the game. Cullen was well-respected by his fellow players and coaches, earning a reputation as a consummate professional and team player. He now works for the Penguins as a player development coach, passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of hockey players.
