Matt Hunwick Autographs
Matt Hunwick is a retired professional ice hockey player who spent 13 seasons playing in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on May 21, 1985, in Warren, Michigan, and played college hockey at the University of Michigan. He was drafted in the seventh round, 224th overall, by the Boston Bruins in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Hunwick began his professional career with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2007 after spending three seasons with the University of Michigan Wolverines. He made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins in 2007, where he played for four seasons before moving on to play for the Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, and finally the Buffalo Sabres before retiring in 2019. Over the course of his career, he played in over 500 NHL games, scoring 25 goals and 114 assists.
Hunwick was a versatile player who could play both defense and forward positions when called upon. He was known for his strong skating ability, solid defensive play, and his ability to chip in offensively when needed. Throughout his career, he was a solid presence on every team he played for and was a respected leader in the locker room. Hunwick's contributions to the NHL have been significant, and his legacy as a hardworking, dependable player will be remembered for years to come.
