Maxim Lapierre is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player who played nine seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 2005 to 2015. Born in Saint-Leonard, Quebec on March 29, 1985, Lapierre grew up playing minor hockey in Quebec and was selected in the second round, 61st overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2003 NHL Draft. After several seasons in the Canadiens organization, Lapierre was traded to the Anaheim Ducks midway through the 2010-2011 season. He later played for the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Pittsburgh Penguins, and finally, the Swedish team Modo Hockey before retiring in 2018. Lapierre was primarily known for his aggressive playing style, and had a reputation as an effective pest and agitator on the ice.
