Mel Bridgman Autographs
Mel Bridgman is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He was born on April 28, 1955 in Trenton, Ontario. He played centre for several teams during his career, including the Philadelphia Flyers, the Calgary Flames, and the Detroit Red Wings.
Bridgman was drafted eighth overall in the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. He quickly became known for his aggressive style of play and was an effective penalty killer. Bridgman competed in the playoffs with the Flyers for seven consecutive seasons, and in 1980 he helped lead the team to the Stanley Cup Finals. He was eventually traded to the Flames in 1981, where he was named team captain in 1982.
In total, Bridgman played in 977 NHL games, scoring 252 goals and 433 assists, for a total of 685 points. He was known for his physical play and leadership skills, and he was widely respected as one of the toughest and most feared players of his era. After he retired from professional hockey in 1989, Bridgman went on to work as a manager for several teams, including the Florida Panthers and the Detroit Red Wings.
