Michel Petit Autographs
Michel Petit is a former professional hockey player who had a successful career in the NHL that spanned over 10 years. He was born on August 12, 1964, in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Canada. Petit began his hockey career playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the Sherbrooke Castors before he was selected by the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks in the 1982 draft. He quickly adapted to the NHL game and had a long and successful career as a defenseman.
Petit played for a number of teams throughout his NHL career, including the Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, Quebec Nordiques, Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Los Angeles Kings. One of his standout performances was during the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals when he was a member of the New York Rangers. He made a crucial play in game six of the series, blocking a shot by Vancouver defenseman Jyrki Lumme that helped the Rangers to clinch the series and win the Stanley Cup.
Petit was known as an aggressive and physical defenseman who was not afraid to stand up to opponents. Throughout his career, he scored a total of 54 goals and 164 assists in 763 games. He retired from the NHL in 1999 and went on to work as a TV analyst for the Tampa Bay Lightning for several years. Despite being retired from the NHL, Petit remains involved in hockey as a coach and mentor to young players. He is known for his dedication to the sport and his willingness to share his expertise and knowledge with the next generation of hockey players.
