Redmond's most successful season was in 1972-73, where he scored an astonishing 52 goals, making him the first player in Red Wings history to reach the milestone. He played nine seasons with the Red Wings, resulting in an impressive 309 goals, 276 assists, and 585 points. Even after his career ended, he would stay connected to the sport by becoming a successful broadcaster for CBS, Red Wings, and also for Fox Sports Detroit. His impressive hockey career led to his induction into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1994.

Redmond's career was not without its challenges, however. He was forced to retire from the game at the young age of 33 due to a back injury. Redmond's legacy as a hockey player remains strong, though, and he remains one of the most respected names in the sport. Fans remember him as a dynamic and talented player who contributed impressively to hockey, particularly with the Detroit Red Wings. His on-screen persona, as an amiable and knowledgeable commentator, has helped to cement his place as a beloved figure in the world of ice hockey. Read even more about Mickey Redmond at Wikipedia
