Mike Rogers Autographs
Mike Rogers is a former professional ice hockey player who was born on November 18, 1954, in East Boston, Massachusetts. Rogers grew up playing hockey, starting at an early age and playing on various teams throughout his childhood. After finishing high school, Rogers attended Merrimack College and played for the school's hockey team. During his time at Merrimack, Rogers became one of the most productive players in the program's history, scoring 208 points in only 76 games.
In 1975, Rogers entered the NHL draft and was selected in the fifth round by the expansion Washington Capitals. Rogers played four seasons with the Capitals and quickly became one of the team's most reliable and talented players. He was traded to the Hartford Whalers in 1979, where he continued to excel on the ice. Rogers had his best season with the Whalers in 1981-1982 when he scored 44 goals and 104 points, leading the team and setting a franchise record for points in a single season. In total, Rogers played twelve seasons in the NHL, scoring 357 goals and 937 points in 1044 games.
After retiring from hockey, Rogers worked as a scout for the Calgary Flames and then as an assistant coach for the New York Rangers. In 1991, Rogers became the head coach of the Prince Albert Raiders in the Western Hockey League, leading the team to a championship in his second season. He also served as the head coach of the Saskatoon Blades and Kamloops Blazers before retiring from coaching in 2002. Rogers was inducted into the Merrimack College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994 and the WHL Hall of Fame in 2013, reflecting on his impressive hockey career.
