Mike Zigomanis Autographs
Mike Zigomanis was born on January 17, 1981, in North York, Ontario, Canada. He is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey center who played for various teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) during his career. Zigomanis began playing hockey at a young age and later played for the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He was later drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
Zigomanis made his NHL debut in the 2001-2002 season, playing for the Buffalo Sabres. He played for five NHL teams throughout his career, including the Phoenix Coyotes, Carolina Hurricanes, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Zigomanis bounced back and forth between the NHL and the American Hockey League (AHL) during his career, but in 2006, he won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes. During the 2009-2010 season, Zigomanis enjoyed a successful stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs, scoring a career-high nine goals and 20 points in just 22 games.
After spending several years playing in the AHL and overseas, Zigomanis retired from professional hockey in 2018. He finished his NHL career with 19 goals and 45 assists in 197 games. Zigomanis was known for his excellent faceoff skills, winning over 53% of his draws throughout his career. Off the ice, Zigomanis was known for his philanthropic efforts, working to support various causes such as breast cancer research and mental health awareness.
