Milan Hnilicka Autographs
Milan Hnilicka is a former professional ice hockey goaltender from the Czech Republic. He was born on January 25th, 1973, in Prague, Czech Republic. Hnilicka started his hockey career playing for his local team in Prague, HC Sparta. He played for HC Sparta from 1989-1996, during which he won the Czech Extraliga championship five times.
In 1996, Hnilicka was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He played for the Atlanta Thrashers from 1999-2001, making 37 appearances. Although he was unable to establish himself as the starting goalie for the Thrashers, Hnilicka was a reliable backup goaltender. He was then traded to the New York Rangers during the 2001-2002 season, where he played in two games before returning to the Czech Republic to play for HC Slavia Praha.
Hnilicka continued to play for various Czech teams until his retirement in 2013. In addition to his success with HC Sparta, he won the Czech Extraliga championship three times with HC Slavia Praha. He was also a member of the Czech national team, winning bronze at the 1998 Olympics and gold at the 2000 World Championships. Milan Hnilicka's goaltending career spanned over two decades, and he remains one of the most successful Czech goaltenders in history.
