Murray Baron Autographs
Murray Baron is a former Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who was born on June 1, 1967, in Prince George, British Columbia. Baron played a remarkable career, joining the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Penticton Knights in the 1984-85 season. He spent four seasons in the WHL, playing for the Knights and the Seattle Thunderbirds, where he established himself as an excellent defenceman with a clean and smart game.
Murray Baron turned pro in 1988, joining the St. Louis Blues organization, where he became a regular on the blue line. He played seven full seasons for the Blues, earning the reputation of being one of the toughest defencemen in the league. Baron was a physical presence on the ice and known for his clean hitting and fighting, for which he gained the nickname "Murray the Enforcer." In 2007, he hung up his skates after playing for a total of 14 NHL seasons, collecting 36 goals, 110 assists, and 1,268 penalty minutes, having played for the Blues, Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars, and Vancouver Canucks.
After retiring from playing, Murray Baron began a successful coaching career, starting from the minor league teams before moving to coach the Vancouver Canucks' defence in the 2010-11 season. He then moved to the Montreal Canadiens, where he worked as an assistant coach and later as an associate coach for the team. Baron is known to have a strong work ethic and a deep knowledge of the game, both of which have made him one of the most respected coaches in the NHL. Today, Murray Baron is working as an assistant coach for the San Jose Sharks, where he applies his experience and knowledge to develop the team's young defensive players.
