Murray Oliver Autographs
Murray Oliver was a Canadian professional ice hockey player born on December 14, 1937, in Hamilton, Ontario. Oliver began his professional career in 1957 with the Boston Bruins, where he played as a center player. During his rookie year, Oliver scored an impressive 20 goals and 23 assists in 66 games, making him one of the top rookies in the league. He continued to play for the Bruins until 1960 when he was traded to the Detroit Red Wings.
Oliver had his best season in 1961-62, where he scored an impressive 27 goals and 33 assists playing for the Red Wings. He played for the Red Wings until 1964, where he was traded to the Boston Bruins. Oliver played for the Bruins for two seasons before he was traded again to the Los Angeles Kings, where he played until he retired in 1975. Over his professional career, Oliver played in 1,127 games, scoring 274 goals, and 454 assists, accumulating a total of 728 points.
In 1967, Oliver was selected by the Los Angeles Kings as part of the NHL Expansion Draft, where he was an essential player on the team, leading the team to its first-ever playoff appearance. Oliver was successful on the ice, known for his skillful passing and exceptional offensive ability, and was named the Kings' MVP twice. After his retirement, Oliver stayed close to the game, coaching several minor league teams over the years. Murray Oliver passed away on December 23, 2014, at the age of 77. His contributions to the game of hockey are still remembered by fans and players alike.
