Niklas Sundstrom Autographs
Niklas Sundstrom is a retired Swedish ice hockey player who was born on July 6, 1975. His professional career spanned over 14 years, during which he played for various clubs in the NHL, Swedish Hockey League, and Swiss National League. Sundstrom's journey in hockey began in Sweden, where he played for the junior teams of Bromma Hockey and AIK Solna. In 1993, he was drafted 8th overall by the New York Rangers in the NHL Entry Draft.
After a few years in the American Hockey League (AHL), Sundstrom made his NHL debut with the Rangers in the 1995-96 season, appearing in 57 games and scoring 12 points. He went on to play for the Rangers for three more seasons before being traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 1999. In Montreal, Sundstrom found his form and recorded a career-high 45 points in the 2000-01 season. He played for the Canadiens until 2003 before joining the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he played for one season. Sundstrom returned to Sweden in 2004, where he played for Frolunda HC and Djurgardens IF in the Swedish Hockey League. His stint in Sweden, however, was short-lived as he moved to HC Lugano in the Swiss National League for the 2005-06 season, where he ended his career in 2010.
Overall, Sundstrom's career statistics include 750 NHL games, 117 goals, and 294 points. He also represented Sweden in numerous international tournaments, winning silver in the 1994 World Junior Championships and representing his country in the Winter Olympics and World Championships. Sundstrom's career highlights were his impressive offensive skills, intelligence, and two-way play on the ice, which made him a valuable asset to any team he played.
