Nolan Baumgartner Autographs
Nolan Baumgartner is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. He was born on March 23, 1976, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Baumgartner’s hockey career officially began when he joined the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in the 1992-93 season. As a defenseman, he developed a reputation for his excellent skating ability, strong passing skills, and sound decision making on the ice.
Baumgartner was selected in the first round (tenth overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 1994 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft. He spent several seasons in the Capitals’ organization before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in 1998. Baumgartner played a total of 38 NHL games over his career, scoring two goals and six assists. However, the majority of his professional career was spent in the minor leagues. He played for several teams in the American Hockey League (AHL), including the Chicago Wolves and Manitoba Moose, where he was team captain for three seasons.
After retiring from professional hockey in 2013, Baumgartner was hired as an assistant coach for the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL. He spent seven seasons with the team, working primarily with the team's defensemen. In August 2020, Baumgartner was named head coach of the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League (USHL). He is tasked with leading the team to a successful season and helping develop young players towards their dream of playing professional hockey.
