Nolan Patrick is a Canadian-born professional ice hockey player who played for the Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was picked second overall by the Flyers in the 2017 NHL Draft, a testament to his impressive junior career in Canada. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1998, Patrick was the youngest of three children, all of whom were involved in ice hockey. After playing in the minor leagues in Canada, Patrick joined the Western Hockey League (WHL) to begin his junior career. He played for the Brandon Wheat Kings, one of the top junior teams in Canada, and quickly made a name for himself as a skilled center. In his first year, Patrick recorded 56 points in just 55 games, and his second season saw him put up a staggering 102 points in 71 games. He led the Wheat Kings to the WHL championship in 2016, earning the tournament MVP award, and also helped Canada win gold at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
