Olli Maatta Autographs
Olli Maatta is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on August 22, 1994, in Jyvaskyla, Finland, Maatta began his hockey career at a young age, playing for various junior teams in his hometown. He moved to North America in 2011 to play for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he quickly established himself as a top defensive prospect.
Maatta entered the NHL in 2013, after being drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. His rookie season was impressive, as he contributed to the Penguins' Stanley Cup run as a key member of their blue-line. Maatta continued to play for the Penguins for the next few seasons, with his career hit by injuries during that time. He eventually left the Penguins in 2019, signing with the Chicago Blackhawks, where he played for two seasons before being traded to the Los Angeles Kings in April 2021.
Throughout his career, Maatta has been recognized for his exceptional defensive skills, smooth skating, and ability to read the game. He has played for Finland at various international tournaments, including the World Junior Championship, World Championship, and the Winter Olympics. Maatta has been a part of two Stanley Cup-winning teams (2016 and 2017) and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2013.
