Pat Riggin Autograph
Pat Riggin is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played for various teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) during his career. Born on June 21, 1959, in Kincardine, Ontario, Riggin started playing hockey at a young age and eventually moved on to play junior hockey for the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League. He was 20 years old when the Washington Capitals drafted him in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. After a few years in the American Hockey League, Riggin made his NHL debut in the 1980-81 season with the Capitals. More about Pat Riggin

Throughout his career, Pat Riggin was known for his aggressive and athletic style of play, diving and flailing to make saves. He was also infamous for his superstitions, such as always putting his equipment on in a specific order and refusing to have his skates sharpened during the playoffs. Riggin finished his NHL career with a record of 157 wins, 146 losses, and 34 ties.
