Patrik Sundstrom Autographs
Patrik Sundstrom was born on October 5, 1961, in Skelleftea, Sweden. He started his professional hockey career with Skelleftea AIK in his hometown, where he played from 1979 until 1982. After that, Sundstrom moved to North America to play in the NHL. He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the fourth round of the 1980 NHL Draft, and he played for the team from 1982 until 1986. He was then traded to the New Jersey Devils, where he played from 1986 until 1989 before being traded to the Quebec Nordiques, where he finished his NHL career in 1990.
Sundstrom was known for his versatile style of play, as he could play both center and left wing. He was also a strong two-way player, and his offensive capabilities were shown during the 1984-85 season when he scored 91 points in 79 games with the Canucks. Sundstrom was also a member of the Swedish National team, participating in the 1981 and 1983 World Championships as well as in the 1984 Winter Olympics. In total, he played 679 games in the NHL, scoring 588 points.
After retiring from hockey, Sundstrom pursued a career in coaching. He worked as an assistant coach with the Swedish National team, as well as with various teams in Sweden such as Skelleftea AIK and Djurgardens IF. Sundstrom also ventured into business and entrepreneurship, co-founding the tech company OTPP Systems. Despite retiring from playing professional hockey over 30 years ago, Sundstrom's impact on the sport and his versatile style of play continues to inspire new generations of players.
