Paul Gillis Autographs
Paul Gillis is a legendary Canadian ice hockey player who is best known for his dynamic skills on the ice. Born in Kingston, Ontario in 1961, Gillis had a passion for hockey from a young age. He was a highly promising junior player and played for the Kingston Canadians of the Ontario Hockey League in the 1978-79 and the 1979-80 seasons. His impressive performance on the ice drew the attention of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who selected him in the fifth round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft.
Gillis made his NHL debut with the Leafs in the 1980-81 season, playing in 79 games and scoring 27 goals and 30 assists. Over the next few seasons, he established himself as a key player for the Leafs and was known for his speed, agility, and ability to create scoring chances. In the 1983-84 season, he was traded to the Quebec Nordiques, where he played for two seasons before joining the St. Louis Blues in 1986. Gillis played 360 games in the NHL, scoring 90 goals and 108 assists.
Despite his successful NHL career, Gillis is also remembered for his contribution to the Canadian national ice hockey team. He represented Canada in the 1982 and 1986 Ice Hockey World Championships and was a member of the gold-medal-winning team at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. Gillis retired from professional hockey in 1989 but continued to be involved in the sport as a coach and a commentator. His stellar career and achievements have made him one of the all-time greats of Canadian ice hockey.
