Paul Mara Autographs
Paul Mara was born on September 7, 1979, in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and is a former professional ice hockey player who played for several teams in the National Hockey League (NHL). Mara began his hockey career playing for the Everett Silvertips, a junior hockey team based in Everett, Washington, and then went on to play for the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Mara was chosen in the seventh overall pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Lightning in 1998 and played for them for three seasons. He also played for the Phoenix Coyotes, the Boston Bruins, the New York Rangers, the Montreal Canadiens, and the Anaheim Ducks. In his 13-year career in the NHL, Mara played in 734 regular-season games and scored 64 goals and 197 assists for a total of 261 points. He retired in 2012 and has since worked as a television analyst for MSG Network, covering the New York Rangers.
Mara was known for his tough playing style and his skills as an offensive defenseman. He also had a reputation for being a good teammate and a leader on the ice. In addition to his NHL career, Mara represented the United States in international tournaments, including the World Junior Championships and the World Championships. He was also a member of the 2002 U.S. Olympic team that competed in Salt Lake City.
