Pavol Demitra was a Slovak professional ice hockey player who was born on November 29, 1974, in Dubnica, Czechoslovakia. Demitra began his hockey career in 1991 playing for Dukla Trenčín of the Czechoslovak Extraliga. He moved on to play in other leagues, including the International Hockey League, the American Hockey League, and the National Hockey League (NHL).
