Pelle Eklund Autographs
Pelle Eklund is a former Swedish professional ice hockey player. He was born on October 22, 1963, in Stockholm, Sweden. Eklund began his hockey career in 1981 with Djurgårdens IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). During his time with Djurgårdens IF, he was an instrumental player as he helped the team win back-to-back SHL championships in 1983 and 1984.
In 1985, Eklund was drafted in the seventh round, 139th overall, by the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL Entry Draft. After two seasons in the minor leagues, he finally made his NHL debut in 1988. He spent six seasons with the Flyers, where he established himself as a top offensive player. Eklund played in the Stanley Cup playoffs in each of his six seasons with the Flyers. In 1993, he was part of the Flyers team that made it to the Stanley Cup Finals but eventually lost to the Montreal Canadiens.
In 1994, Eklund returned to Sweden, where he played for Bofors IK for three seasons. He then went on to play for a few more seasons with different clubs in Sweden before officially retiring in 2001. Eklund was an excellent playmaker, and his outstanding skills helped him become a fan favorite during his time with the Flyers. He also represented Sweden in several international tournaments, including the 1992 Olympics, where he helped Sweden win a bronze medal. Today, Pelle Eklund is remembered as one of the most talented Swedish ice hockey players of all time.
