Petr Prucha Autographs
Petr Prucha is a former Czech professional ice hockey right-winger who enjoyed a successful career in the National Hockey League (NHL) playing for the New York Rangers, Phoenix Coyotes, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Born on June 14, 1982, in Chrudim, Czechoslovakia, Prucha started playing hockey in his hometown and quickly became a standout player. He joined the HC Hradec Kralove of the Czech Extraliga at the age of 16 and played three seasons before he was drafted by the Rangers in the eighth round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
After spending a season with the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL), Prucha made his NHL debut in 2005. The 2005-06 season turned out to be a breakout year for the young forward, as he scored 30 goals and 17 assists in 68 games and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team. He also established himself as a lethal scorer on the power play, scoring 16 goals with the man advantage. Prucha continued to play for the Rangers for three more seasons, scoring 22, 15, and seven goals, respectively.
In the following years, Prucha played for the Coyotes and Lightning, but he struggled to replicate his early success with the Rangers due to injuries and inconsistent play. After a stint in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), Prucha officially retired from professional hockey in 2017. Today, he is still revered by Rangers fans for his electrifying rookie season and his contributions to the team during his time in New York.
