Petr Sykora is a former Czech ice hockey right winger who had a prolific career in the National Hockey League. Born on November 19, 1976, in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, Sykora started his professional hockey career with the HC Plzen team in the Czech Extraliga. He quickly established himself as a skilled and dynamic player with an impressive ability to score goals.
In 1995, Sykora was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the first round of the NHL draft. He joined the Devils in the 1995-96 season and helped the team win the Stanley Cup in his rookie year. Sykora played with the Devils for seven seasons and was an important part of the team’s offense, scoring 25 or more goals in four seasons. He played with the Anaheim Ducks, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, and the St. Louis Blues before retiring in 2013.
Overall, Petr Sykora had a distinguished hockey career, playing in 1,017 regular-season games and scoring 323 goals and 396 assists.
