Pierre Turgeon Autographs
As a former professional ice hockey player, Pierre Turgeon was considered to be one of the top scorers of his generation. Born on August 28, 1969, in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Canada, Turgeon started playing minor ice hockey at an early age. He played in various minor leagues before joining his first professional league team, Granby Bisons, in 1986. He had an impressive debut season, scoring 121 points in 68 games.
Turgeon played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 19 seasons, joining different teams such as the Montreal Canadiens, the New York Islanders, the St. Louis Blues, the Dallas Stars, and the Colorado Avalanche. He was considered a skilled centerman and an excellent playmaker, finishing his career with 515 goals and 1,327 points. In 1993, he won the Lady Byng Trophy for exhibiting sportsmanship and playing ability with the Islanders, and he also represented his country in international tournaments such as the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.
Retiring from professional hockey in 2007, Turgeon continued to stay involved in the sport, working as an assistant coach with various NHL teams such as the Avalanche, the Los Angeles Kings, and the Buffalo Sabres. In 2020, he was appointed the head coach of the Sherbrooke Phoenix of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. With over three decades of experience in the sport, Turgeon is regarded as a respected and accomplished figure in hockey history.
