Red Berenson Autographs

Red BerensonRed Berenson, a Canadian former ice hockey player, was born on December 8, 1939, in Regina, Saskatchewan. He had a successful career in the National Hockey League (NHL) spanning over 17 seasons, playing for six different teams. Berenson's prowess on the ice was his skill with the puck, making him a key player throughout his career. His hockey career started when he was playing in high school and soon progressed to major junior leagues, playing for the Regina Pats and the Montreal Junior Canadiens.
Berenson's professional career started when he joined the Montreal Canadiens in 1961, where he played three seasons before being traded to the New York Rangers in 1963. Later, he played for the Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, and the expansion team, the Buffalo Sabres. Berenson's best season came when he was with St. Louis Blues in 1971-72, scoring 37 goals and earning 49 assists in just 79 games. Berenson retired from playing professional hockey in 1978 with a total of 261 goals and 311 assists in 987 regular-season games.
After his retirement, Berenson turned to coaching and worked in various roles like assistant coach, scout, and general manager for the NHL. He got his first head coaching position in 1985 when he was appointed the head coach for the University of Michigan Wolverines. Berenson led the team for 33 seasons, winning two national tournaments and 11 conference titles. He's currently coaching in the NHL alumni program, which was created to keep former players involved in the sport. Berenson is remembered as one of the best all-time players to come out of Canada and one who helped redefine the way the game was played.
