Richard Brodeur Autographs
Richard Brodeur was a Canadian goaltender, born on September 15, 1952, in Longueuil, Quebec. He began his professional hockey career with the Quebec Nordiques of the World Hockey Association (WHA) in 1975 after playing junior hockey with the Weyburn Red Wings. When the WHA folded, Brodeur moved to the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1980. Brodeur played for the Canucks for seven seasons until he was traded to the Hartford Whalers in 1987. However, he never played a game with the Whalers and decided to retire from professional hockey.
Throughout his career, Brodeur was known for his agility and acrobatic saves in the net. In 1982, he played a crucial role in leading Vancouver to the Stanley Cup Finals, where they ultimately lost to the New York Islanders. Brodeur also represented Canada in several international tournaments, including the 1981 and 1983 World Championships. In 1983, he won a silver medal with the Canadian team.
After retiring from hockey, Brodeur became a successful businessman, owning and operating a franchise of The UPS Store in Vernon, British Columbia. His contributions to the sport of hockey were recognized in 1999 when he was inducted into the British Columbia Hockey Hall of Fame. Brodeur was also honored by the Vancouver Canucks in 2018 when they retired his jersey number 35. He remains a beloved figure in Vancouver and is widely regarded as one of the best goaltenders in Canucks' history.
