Rick Tocchet is a former NHL player who has been making waves both on and off the ice for decades. He was born on April 9, 1964 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Tocchet's hockey career officially began when he was drafted 121st overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Over the next 16 seasons, he played with a number of big-name teams, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Los Angeles Kings, and Boston Bruins. Tocchet is known for his hard-hitting style of play and his ability to read the ice and make quick decisions. Since leaving the ice, Tocchet has become a well-known coach and analyst. He began his coaching career in 2002 as an assistant coach with the Colorado Avalanche, and later moved on to work with the Phoenix Coyotes (now Arizona Coyotes) and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tocchet has also worked as a commentator and analyst for a number of hockey broadcasts, including NHL Network and ESPN. He is widely respected in the hockey community for his knowledge of the game and his ability to develop young players into top talent.
