Over his career, Scuderi played for several NHL teams, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Los Angeles Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, and Carolina Hurricanes. He was known for his defensive skills, often playing as the team's top shutdown defenseman. Scuderi won two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009 and 2016, and he was also a member of the Los Angeles Kings team that won the Cup in 2012. In total, Scuderi played in 783 regular-season games, scoring 8 goals and tallying 107 assists.

In 2016, Scuderi announced his retirement from professional hockey, and he joined the Pittsburgh Penguins organization as a player development coach. He continued to work with the team, later becoming an assistant coach for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the Penguins' AHL affiliate.
