Robert Kron Autographs
Robert Kron is a retired Czech professional ice hockey player, best known for his career in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on October 27, 1967, in Brno, Czechoslovakia. Kron started his hockey career playing for the Czechoslovak Extraliga team HC ZK Brno in 1985. He was a talented center with great stickhandling and scoring abilities. Kron played seven seasons with HC ZK Brno before moving to the NHL in 1992.
Kron was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. After playing one season in the International Hockey League (IHL), he joined the Canucks for the 1992-93 season. Kron played three seasons in Vancouver, scoring 46 goals and 64 assists in 196 games. In 1995, he was traded to the Hartford Whalers, where he continued to play until the team moved to Carolina and became the Carolina Hurricanes. Kron played six seasons with the Hurricanes, serving as an alternate captain for four of those seasons. He was known for his defensive prowess and his ability to win faceoffs. Kron scored a career-high 19 goals in the 1996-97 season and helped the Hurricanes reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 2002.
Kron played his final NHL season with the Columbus Blue Jackets before returning to the Czech Republic to finish his professional career. In total, he played 771 NHL games, scoring 144 goals and 200 assists. Kron also represented the Czech Republic in international play, helping the team win a silver medal at the 1992 Winter Olympics and a gold medal at the 1996 World Championships. Today, Kron is retired from hockey and lives with his family in the Czech Republic. He is remembered as one of the most successful Czech players in NHL history.
