Ron Tugnutt Autographs
Ron Tugnutt is a retired Canadian ice hockey goaltender. Born on October 22, 1967, in Scarborough, Ontario, Tugnutt started his hockey career at a young age. Throughout his career, Tugnutt played for six different NHL teams, including the Quebec Nordiques, Edmonton Oilers, Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Dallas Stars. His most successful season was with the Ottawa Senators in the 1998-99 season when he recorded a remarkable .925 save percentage and won 22 games.
Tugnutt played in the NHL from 1987 to 2004 and amassed 537 games played. His career save percentage of .895 doesn't do him justice considering he played in a time when scoring was at a high. He recorded 22 shutouts over his career and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 1992. Tugnutt had a lengthy NHL career but never won a Stanley Cup, despite his great achievements in net. Outside of the NHL, Tugnutt was also part of the Canadian National Team and won the silver medal at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France.
After retiring from professional hockey in 2004, Tugnutt served as a goaltending coach, working for the OHL's Peterborough Petes and the NHL's Dallas Stars. He also became part-owner of the Brockville Braves, a Junior A team in the Central Canada Hockey League. Tugnutt's long career in hockey has had a significant impact on the sport as a whole, and he remains highly regarded by fans and players alike.
