Shane Hnidy Autographs
Shane Hnidy is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who was born on November 8, 1975, in Neepawa, Manitoba. He was a versatile defenseman who played for nine seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for six different teams. His professional career began when he was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 1994, but he first saw regular NHL action in 2001 with the Nashville Predators. Hnidy played for the Ottawa Senators, Atlanta Thrashers, Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, and Winnipeg Jets in his NHL stint, accumulating 550 career games played and 38 points.
Despite being a bottom-pairing defenseman for most of his career, Hnidy was renowned for his hard work and physicality. He was a solid stay-at-home defenseman who could provide toughness and grit on the blue line.
