Stan Mikita was a Canadian professional ice hockey player, born on May 20, 1940, in Sokolče, Slovak Republic. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Chicago Blackhawks for 22 seasons from 1958 to 1980, emerging as one of the best forwards in the league.
