Stan Mikita Autographs
Stan Mikita was a Canadian professional ice hockey player, born on May 20, 1940, in Sokolče, Slovak Republic. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Chicago Blackhawks for 22 seasons from 1958 to 1980, emerging as one of the best forwards in the league. Mikita played the center position and stood 5-foot-9, weighing 169 pounds.
Mikita was known for his tremendous work ethic and excellent skill set. He was a five-time NHL All-Star, a two-time Hart Trophy recipient, and a member of the Blackhawks' 1961 Stanley Cup-winning team. He was also awarded the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy for sportsmanship and gentlemanly play twice during his career. Mikita's career statistics are impressive, with 1,467 points, which ranks him 14th in the all-time NHL scoring list.
Mikita retired in 1980 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame later that same year. His number 21 jersey was retired by the Blackhawks, and he remains an iconic figure in the franchise's history. Mikita's success on the ice, combined with his strong character and sportsmanship, have inspired generations of hockey players. When he passed away in August 2018, fans and colleagues remembered him as a true ambassador of the game.
