Steve Downie Autographs
Steve Downie was born on April 3, 1987, in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. He started playing hockey at a young age and was considered a talented player. Downie began his professional hockey career playing for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he quickly established himself as a physical player who could also score goals. He was later drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Downie made his NHL debut with the Flyers during the 2007-2008 season and quickly made a name for himself as an aggressive and physical player. He played for the Flyers for two seasons before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he spent three seasons. Downie continued to develop his skills as an offensive player and became a fan favorite for his tough playing style. In 2013, he was traded to the Colorado Avalanche, where he played for one season before being traded once again to the Philadelphia Flyers.
Throughout his career, Downie was known for his tough playing style and willingness to stand up for his teammates. He finished his NHL career with 76 goals and 120 assists in 358 games played. Although he retired from professional hockey in 2016, he remained involved in the sport as a coach and mentor to young players. Downie's on-ice success and dedication to the sport have made him a respected figure in the hockey community.
