Steve Penney Autographs

Steve Penney was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who spent several years in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on December 29, 1961, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Steve’s hockey career began in the mid-1970s when he started playing for local teams in his home province. He later joined the Sherbrooke Beavers, where he played for three seasons, before being signed by the Montreal Canadiens in 1983.
In his debut year with the Canadiens, Penney made a name for himself by leading the team to the Stanley Cup finals, where they lost to the Edmonton Oilers. Despite losing the final, Steve was named the best rookie goaltender of the year, becoming the first rookie to be awarded the NHL's Molson Cup Trophy since Ken Dryden in 1972. He played for the Canadiens until 1986 when he was traded to the Winnipeg Jets, where he played for one season. After his stint with the Jets, Steve played for several other teams, including the St. Louis Blues, and the Philadelphia Flyers, before retiring from professional hockey in 1992.
