Steve Staios Autographs
Steve Staios was born on July 28, 1973, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Staios played for the Ontario Hockey League's Niagara Falls Thunder before transitioning to the National Hockey League in 1995. He was selected by the Boston Bruins in the second round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
Steve Staios began his NHL career with Boston, but his time with the team was limited, and he was traded to Vancouver. After that, he played for the Atlanta Thrashers, the Edmonton Oilers, and the Calgary Flames. Staios spent eight years with the Oilers and played an integral role in their run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006. Throughout his NHL career, Staios played in 1,001 games and scored 56 goals while tallying 221 assists for 277 points.
In addition to his NHL career, Steve Staios represented Canada numerous times on the international level, including the 1994 World Junior Championship and the 2001 World Championships. While Staios never won a Stanley Cup, he was a solid defenseman who always played hard and contributed to his team's success. In 2013, Staios joined the Toronto Maple Leafs as their director of player development and has remained with the team in a front-office role ever since.
