Steve Vickers Autographs
Steve Vickers was born on December 25, 1949, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He is a retired professional ice hockey winger who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1972 to 1982. He was drafted by the New York Rangers in the second round of the 1969 NHL draft, and he played for the Rangers for ten seasons. Vickers was known for his speed, agility, and goal-scoring ability. He scored 246 goals and had 340 assists in 698 regular-season games in the NHL.
Vickers had a successful hockey career playing for the Rangers. In the 1974-75 season, he had his best performance, scoring 41 goals and 60 assists in 78 games. His 101 points ranked second in the NHL for that season, earning him the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. He also helped the Rangers reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 1979, where they were defeated by the Montreal Canadiens. After ten seasons with the Rangers, Vickers retired from hockey in 1982 due to a back injury. He is still remembered as one of the best Rangers players of all time, and in 2009, he was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame.
Outside of hockey, Vickers remained active in sports as a golfer and a hockey coach. He also became a successful businessman, owning and operating a commercial printing company in New York City. Vickers remains a respected figure in the hockey world and his contributions to the sport are still celebrated today.
