Stu Grimson is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player who played as an enforcer during his career. He was born on May 20, 1965, in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Grimson started his hockey career in the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he played for the Medicine Hat Tigers and the Regina Pats. After a successful junior career, he was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Grimson made his NHL debut in 1989 with Detroit and went on to play for several teams, including the Calgary Flames, the Anaheim Ducks, and the Nashville Predators. Grimson's hockey career spanned from 1983 to 2002.
Nicknamed "The Grim Reaper" during his career, Grimson was renowned for his tough and physical play on the ice. He specialized in the role of an enforcer, a player who is responsible for intimidating the opposing team and protecting his teammates from harm. He was well known for his fighting skills and was often called upon to drop his gloves for his team. Grimson was one of the most feared players in the league, with his 6'6" frame and a solid 240-pound build.
