Teppo Numminen Autographs
Teppo Numminen is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey defenseman. He was born on July 3rd, 1968, in Tampere, Finland. Numminen's career began in 1988 when he was drafted in the third round, 29th overall, by the Winnipeg Jets. He made his debut in the 1988-89 season and played with the Jets until 1995, when the team moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
Numminen then played for the Phoenix Coyotes for eight seasons and captained the team in the 2001-02 season. He was known for his exceptional defensive skills, and during his time with the Coyotes, he set a franchise record of 1,098 games played. Additionally, Numminen represented Finland at various international ice hockey competitions, including the Olympics, the World Championships, and the World Cup of Hockey. He won a Silver medal in the 2006 Turin Olympics.
In 2003, Numminen signed a contract with the Dallas Stars but was quickly traded to the Buffalo Sabres. He played with the Sabres for three seasons and retired from the NHL in 2009. Numminen is the Finnish player with the most NHL games played, with a total of 1,372 games. After his playing career, he joined the Buffalo Sabres coaching staff and also served as a scout and assistant coach for the Finnish national team.
