Thomas Greiss Autographs
Thomas Greiss, born on January 29, 1986, is a professional ice hockey goaltender from Germany. He began his hockey career with the Kölner Haie team in Germany in 2003. In 2004, he was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft. After a few seasons in the minor leagues, Greiss made his NHL debut in 2007 for the Sharks, where he played for four seasons as a backup goalie. In 2013, he signed a one-year contract with the Phoenix Coyotes but was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins mid-season, where he led the team to the playoffs.
In 2015, Greiss signed with the New York Islanders as a backup goaltender but his impressive performances soon earned him the starting role. He finished the season with a 23-11-4 record, a 2.36 goals-against average, and a .925 save percentage. In 2018, his outstanding save percentage of .927 helped the Islanders to a second-round playoff appearance. After four successful seasons with the Islanders, Greiss signed with the Detroit Red Wings in 2020, where he continues to play today.
Throughout his career, Greiss has also represented Germany in several international competitions, including the Winter Olympics in 2010 and 2018, the IIHF World Championships, and the World Cup of Hockey. He is known for his aggressive playing style and strong puck-handling abilities. Greiss' successful career has earned him a reputation as a reliable goalie and a valuable asset to any team he plays for.
