Thomas Greiss, born on January 29, 1986, is a professional ice hockey goaltender from Germany. He began his hockey career with the Kölner Haie team in Germany in 2003. In 2004, he was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft. After a few seasons in the minor leagues, Greiss made his NHL debut in 2007 for the Sharks, where he played for four seasons as a backup goalie. In 2013, he signed a one-year contract with the Phoenix Coyotes but was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins mid-season, where he led the team to the playoffs. More about Thomas Greiss
