Tim Erixon Autographs
Tim Erixon is a former professional ice hockey player from Sweden. He was born on February 24, 1991, in Port Chester, New York. Erixon was the son of Jan Erixon, a former Swedish professional ice hockey player who played in the NHL for the New York Rangers.
Erixon played his junior hockey in Sweden for Skellefteå AIK before coming to North America to play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for the Kitchener Rangers. He was then selected 23rd overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Erixon played for the Flames' minor league affiliates before being traded to the New York Rangers in 2011. He then played briefly for the Rangers before being traded again to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Erixon played his last NHL game on April 11, 2015, and then returned to Sweden to play in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
Erixon had a successful hockey career playing in North America, but he thrived playing in Europe. He played for Skellefteå AIK, Orebro HK, and Vaxjo Lakers in the SHL. He participated in the SHL playoffs six times, winning two championships with Vaxjo Lakers in 2018 and 2019. Erixon also represented Sweden at the international level, playing in two World Championships in 2012 and 2014, winning a silver medal in 2014. Erixon retired from professional hockey on December 11, 2020, after a thirteen-year career.
