Tony Esposito Autograph

Tony Esposito was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 16 seasons. Esposito began his professional career with the Montreal Canadiens organization, playing for their minor league affiliates before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in 1969. He quickly became a fan favorite in Chicago, thanks to his unorthodox style of play that involved a wide, low stance and a reliance on reflexes rather than positional play. Esposito played his best hockey in Chicago, leading the league in shutouts three times and winning the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s best goaltender in 1970 and 1972. More about Tony Esposito

Over the course of his career, Esposito was known for his impeccable technique and unwavering focus, which he used to rack up an impressive array of records including 76 shutouts, a 2.92 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.

After retiring from the NHL in 1984, Esposito was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988, cementing his status as one of the greatest goaltenders in hockey history.
