In 1991, Vladimir Konstantinov was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 11th round of the NHL Draft. It did not take him too long to establish himself as a vital member of the team. He was a key player when the Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup in 1997 for the first time in 42 years. Unfortunately, this career-defining moment was short-lived as he was involved in a horrific car accident just six days after the win that left him with severe brain damage. This forced him to retire from the sport he loved and take up intensive therapy to regain his strength and basic functions. Though his playing career ended abruptly, Vladimir Konstantinov's contributions and passion for hockey remain a source of inspiration for young players in Russia and around the world. In total, we tracked 326 items since 01/01/2008.
