Wade Dubielewicz Autographs
Wade Dubielewicz was born on January 30, 1979, in Invermere, British Columbia, Canada. Dubielewicz grew up in the small town of Bacus, Alberta, where he began playing ice hockey at a young age. As a teenager, he played for a local junior team and eventually made his way to the Western Hockey League where he played with the Portland Winterhawks.
Dubielewicz's professional career began in 2002 when he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Islanders. He spent the majority of his time with the Islanders' American Hockey League affiliate team in Bridgeport, where he was named an AHL All-Star in 2003. Dubielewicz made his NHL debut in 2005, and in 2006, he received international attention when he made a stunning save against the New Jersey Devils that secured a crucial win for the Islanders.
Despite playing for several NHL teams, Dubielewicz is best known for his success in the KHL playing for Ak Bars Kazan. He played in Russia from 2008-2014, during which time he earned numerous accolades including a KHL championship in 2009, and KHL Playoff MVP in 2010. Dubielewicz retired from professional hockey in 2014, but his impact on the sport, particularly his heroics in the KHL, will be remembered by hockey fans for many years to come.
