Wayne Primeau Autographs
Wayne Primeau is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey center who played in the NHL for 15 seasons. He was born on June 4, 1976, in Scarborough, Ontario, and grew up playing minor hockey in the Greater Toronto Area. After a successful junior career with the Owen Sound Platers of the Ontario Hockey League, Primeau was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the first round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
Primeau made his NHL debut with the Sabres in the 1994-95 season and played two more seasons with the team before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He also played for several other teams during his NHL career, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, and San Jose Sharks. Primeau was known as a tough and physical player who excelled on the penalty kill and could chip in offensively when called upon. His best season came in 2005-06 with the Flames, where he recorded 20 goals and 28 assists in 81 games.
After retiring from professional hockey in 2010, Primeau went on to coach at the youth level in his hometown of Scarborough. He also founded the Wayne Primeau Hockey Academy, which provides training and development programs for young hockey players. In addition to his contributions to the game of hockey, Primeau is also involved in charitable work and has established the Wayne Primeau Charity Golf Classic to raise funds for organizations such as SickKids Hospital and Autism Speaks.
