Zbynek Michalek Autographs
Zbynek Michalek is a retired Czech professional ice hockey player who played as a defenseman. He was born in Jindrichuv Hradec, Czech Republic on December 23, 1982. Michalek's early hockey career began with the HC Ceske Budejovice team in his home country. In 2003, he was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the sixth round of the NHL Entry draft. However, he began his NHL career with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2005.
Michalek spent 14 seasons playing in the NHL, and he was known for his defensive abilities. He played for teams such as the Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues, and the Arizona Coyotes again. During his time in the NHL, Michalek played 781 regular season games, scoring 42 goals and registering 157 assists. He was a key player in the Pittsburgh Penguins' 2009 Stanley Cup championship win, where he was among the top defensemen in the playoffs.
Michalek officially retired from professional hockey in 2019.
